Oh, that's cute. I think what happened was in the canonicalizing of
the name. The system is a new installed 6.1(using gbritton's Athena
RPMs), and I hadn't configured everything on it yet. When I did the
name change, it was still set up as localhost.localdomain and
resolve.conf pointed back to 127.0.0.1 The hostname effectively gets
quoted when passed back from the name resolver, right? Anyways, it's
just an guess...
What I don't follow is why it never appeared in the DNS, even as the
alias. Any ideas?
I've updated the moira record to point to the correct name
(vysslynn.mit.edu), and I'm leaving "localhost.localdomain" for you
guys to deal with as you see fit.
