An undergrad who uses perl scripts to maintain Moira lists (i.e. a
power user with substantial Moira investment) had a criticism that
hadn't occurred to me about Moira's handling of lists.
What he wants, but is lacking, is an ACL for a list, rather than just
an owner. To quote his example:
"So what if I want to be able to control a list's ownership, but I
want someone else to control who is on the list. What I actually
mean is that list acls for lists would be convenient.
for example:
->blanche la random-rush
-random-hall-request: Control, Edit members
-random-rush-chair: Edit members"
If we were to ever implement such a thing, I presume it'd be by adding
to owner-type and owner-id, with admin-type and admin-id. The first
would control the list record (the "list" table entry), while both
would be able to control the list membership (the "imembers" table
entries).
