Discovery TLs & DiscoPrt Gang,
The Enterprise Printing Team is preparing for a meeting with our
Advisory Group (AG). One agenda item will include a discussion around
the roles & responsibilities of AGs, sponsors, process owners, teams,
team leaders, etc. In prepping for that work today, I began to
think about the goal to stop "thin slicing" project members. Clearly
this goal has real value.
As we improve with the minimization of the "thin slicing", project
work should move at a more rapid pace. In thinking about the planned
meeting topic above, it dawned on me that a greater time commitment
will probably be required of AGs, sponsors, stakeholders, etc. I
believe many IS directors and other senior management types already
feel thin sliced. So, we'll need to ensure these folks also have
more available time to assist faster moving project teams as required.
Clarifying the expectations for the various roles and responsibilities
could be a reasonable first step to estimating the time commitment
required by all parties.
Just some random thoughts for the day...
