Accomplishments of the past period:
I met with Jeff Schiller and Dennis Baron to see that MIT's web people are
in touch with Falls Earth Station's web people to work on implementing
secure web pages for customers to order services.
I met with Jeff Roberts (Cable Discovery Dormcon Representative) to see
what concerns have come up and to fill him in on the Falls Earth Station
presentation that he was not able to attend.
I contacted Graduate Student Council president Rob Bernstein to give him
information about the project and to elicit feedback.
Cecilia Talamantes and I met with Bob Kaynor to go over some of the
concerns following the FES presentation - contract length, recovering
missing set top boxes, protecting customer privacy, secure web site
ordering and obtaining statistics on residency necessary for completing the
business plan.
The project web site has been moved to the secure server and a disclaimer
has been added.
Goals for next period:
A meeting is scheduled with Karen Nilsson and Carl Seagren from Housing and
Cecilia Talamantes
(Cable Discovery Financial / Business Consultant) to see how missing or
damaged set top boxes can be covered.
Issues:
Bob Kaynor's work has changed due to a reorganization in DSL and he has
passed his team participation along to Deb Fairchild. I have met with Deb
to bring her up to speed on the project.
