Accomplishments past period:
- Met with Vijay and Greg to discuss project scope
- Project pre-planning work begun
- Identified major project tasks and sub tasks
- Did initial pass at resource requirements
- Began collecting information on existing MIT software licenses
Goals for the coming period:
- Begin coordination with pilot projects from MITCET and D'Arbeloff
- Create budget with IS staff requirements and other resource requirements
- Submit funding requirements to MITCET
- Write RFP
- Collect information on potential laptop vendor participants
- Send RFP to vendors identified
- Meet with project major task leaders to verify resource and effort
requirements
- Task leaders will update task detail as necessary including
predecessors and dependencies
- Define laptop hardware requirements per pilot experiment
- Begin short sruvey on what the platform requirements are by MIT course
- Determine software load
- Check software licensing needs
- Fine tune time line
- Begin initial discussions with evaluation experts
Issues:
- Will we be able to get the required time commitment from IS staff
- Decision on which laptop experiments will be conducted has not yet
been decided by MITCET
