Accomplishments since last report:
- held what amounts to a end-of-discovery milestone meeting.
- defined next steps for transition to the next phase:
- appoint Project Mgr (Bill V has action item)
- write an RFP to the two vendors (Bill V, T Hoole)
- follow through on discovery report.
- held phone meeting with Anita Nolan of the research arm of Rohm & Haas,
a major chemical producer. R&H is retiring a mainframe-based inventory
system. Looking at EMAX but R&H Manufacturing has just bought SAP for the
company, now their decision path is muddied as ours was. R&H will drive
their decision path from the Researcher-Convenience point of view (favoring
EMAX), where MIT has decided to drive it from the Occupational Safety /
Regulatory Reporting point of view (favoring MIT). We agreed to talk more
in a few months.
Goals for the coming period:
- Finish discovery report -- Rob got the first draft off his desk at last.
J Curtis now has it.
