Project Name:      Enterprise Printing
Project Leader:    Dave Lambert
Report Date:       02/10/1999
Project Notebook:  http://web.mit.edu/is/discovery/enter-print/
Team Email:        discoprt@mit.edu

Accomplishments for the past period:
- met with Greg & Morgan to resolve several issues
- resolved team staffing issues; Tim McGovern joined the team but
  refused the team's paddling initiation ceremony
- resolved plans to ensure strong communication path with CAO;
  will use focus group/check-in model with key CAO staff & other
  targeted audiences; may use business unit staff on subteams
- finalized the description of the printing involved in this project
- drafted first list of interviewees
- finalized data gathering interview "script" and questions
- agreed to recommend use of consultant to assist technical subteam;
  final decision will be made by the subteam; obtained cost estimates

Goals for the coming period:
- begin scheduling interviews (carry over)
- review and update WBS as required
- develop draft plan for focus groups and beef-up communications plan
- complete the review of known centralized print information
  (e.g., customers, volumes, forms, business appl, etc.)
- pester Greg and others regarding subteam staffing needs
- plan next Advisory Group check-in

Issues:
- need to line up the internal technical & business modeling team
  resources, and outside consultant soon
- timeline adjustment may be required after subteam formations

Key learnings:
We probably should have defined the Advisory Group's role more
clearly from the start.

Team dynamics:
We're okay.  Tim's a great addition to the team.  We're getting a
lot done, and we laugh a lot too!

Additional comments:
None
