Accomplishments past period:
- Dan met with ASPCC to continue HR-Payroll discussions: key topics were:
continue to build business case, creation of consolidated
calendar/timeline, resources and budgets for implementation, and continued
discussion of the project structure for implementation.
- Met with the Administrative Advisory Council (AAC) on Jan. 27 for an
update on the project
- Continued to meet with the Asst. Deans & School AO's for updates
- Agreed on structure of final report
- Made assignments for final report
- Esther began to put together draft of report
- Held last scheduled meeting of team on Thurs. Jan. 27, 2000
- Dan began working with SAP-Plan and SAP-IT to insure integration of
HR-Payroll project into overall scope of SAP activities.
Goals for the coming period:
- Complete final report: team review on Feb. 8.
- Discuss final report with sponsors (to be scheduled)
- Meet with Doreen Morris and Asst. Deans on Feb. 9
- Follow-up on AAC interest in working on the risk analysis
- Continue to work on a consolidated calendar for SAP HR-Payroll with FSS.
- Continue to work with sponsors and others to estimate resources and
project structure
- Meet with Bob McKersie and Ed Schein on change management
- Prepare for next meeting with ASPCC on Feb. 16.
Issues:
- Bringing together the report from a wealth of information requires a
careful balance of concision and detail.
Key learnings
- Collectively, the team will own the content and spirit of the report.
- Customers, as represented by the AAC, are ready to work on business
policies and practices; they agree that addressing these business
activities up front and early in the project is a key opportunity to
question and improve work processes
- ASPCC involvement and interest is very productive and provides a broader
set of perspectives to combine with the work of the team.
- Keeping all of the components of the work in synch is intensive.
Team dynamics:
- The team is ready to complete its work and begin the implementation efforts.
