I found reference to a "Stakeholder Information System" in my reading of
stuff by management and self-improvement guru Stephen Covey. Apparently
Covey sells a course on it, but having taken one of Covey's courses
already, it would not surprise me if his presentation was short on
detail -- probably not up to the standards of the PMBOK.
Even so, I've kind of enjoyed just turning over principles in my mind, asking:
What is really meant by stakeholders?
Covey says it's whoever materially gains from the enterprise.
What is the best way to assess the stake held?
To communicate with the stakeholders?
To balance conflicting stakes?
etc.
