Project Name: HR-Payroll
Project Leader: Dan Fitzgerald
Report Date Dec. 15, 1999
Submitted by: Greg Anderson
URL: http://web.mit.edu/is/discovery/hrpay/

Accomplishments past period:
- Presented to ASPCC on Dec. 15; key topics were discussion of the risk
analysis action plans & update and discussion regarding Change Journey
- Dan met again with Bob McKersie to review and update change maps; i.e.
proposing structures and elements necessary to incorporate and support
change as part of the project.
- Dan met with Chuck Shaw and Paul Page to begin discussions on an
integrated calendar for HR-Payroll and other SAP activities.
- Provided an update to Robin Elices in ASO as follow-up to her
contributions earlier in the fall.
- Began to discuss the issue of phased implementation strategies.
- Began to understand the issue of graduate student appointments (RA's,
TA's and Fellowships) and the interactions between MITSIS and Payroll

Goals for the coming period:

- Follow up action items arising from conversations with ASPCC
- Prepare for meetings with Asst. Deans and AAC (Dec. 29 & 30)
- Continue to work on a consolidated calendar for SAP HR-Payroll with FSS.
- Continue work to define requirements for appointment process
- Continue to define requirements for student payroll

Issues:
- How to integrate a change process structure with the HR project. What are
the pieces of the change map?
- Beginning to define the Discovery report final report - what elements
should be included.

Key learnings
- ASPCC involvement and interest is very productive and provides a broader
set of perspectives to combine with the work of the team.
- Keeping all of the components of the work in synch is intensive.
- Managing the change issues and the perspectives of central and
decentralized stakeholders will be critical to success.

Team dynamics:
- Team is very active and engaged; work on risk analysis was very productive.

Additional comments:
- None
