Accomplishments past period:
- Completed Customer Questionnaire
- Team members began customer interviews
- Began discussion of possible solutions
- Began scheduling meetings with 3rd party vendors
- Have information to being collecting
- Met with Greg Anderson to review Discovery process
- Met with Scott Thorne to discuss possible Warehouse use
Goals for the coming period:
- Complete customer interviews and analyze responses
- Write up scenarios of existing environment
- Write up scenarios of possible outcome scenarios
- Collect traffic data
- Begin discussions with vendors
- Talk to other universities - gather best practices data
Issues:
- One team member is still unable to devote much time to the project. That
team member has been given and advisory role and will check in on the
technical aspects of potential solutions as needed.
Team dynamics:
- This team is a mix of two project veterans and two project novices. The
novice members are enthusiastic self starter and bring a lot of good ideas
to the table.
Key learnings
- It is difficult to put our arms around a solution until we have some
concrete examples from vendors
- Customers are interested and willing to talk
- Choosing team members from a large pool of IS staff who ordinarily do not
serve on project teams can inject life into a project
