Good morning everyone,
I want to report a very positive event this morning. The Events
Calendaring Discovery project led by Debby Levinson was invited to present
to the Administrative Systems and Policies Coordinating Council (ASPCC).
This Council is chaired by John Curry and convenes to set strategic
directions for administrative systems.
In setting the stage for Events Calendaring, Jim Bruce provided an
inspiring and challenging message. Jim described briefly the IT Process
framework, and specifically the work and outcomes of Discovery projects.
For the ASPCC, he emphasized that Discovery was the front-end to serious
commitments for Delivery, Integration, Service and Support, and that those
commitments were shared responsibilities for business customers and IT
units alike.
Jim also suggested that the ASPCC forum for Discovery projects
should become the appropriate path for enterprise endeavors because of the
resource implications and to acknowledge Institute wide impact.
The discussion about Events Calendaring was very successful;
Kathryn Willmore as sponsor was strong in her endorsement, and the team,
led by Debby's introduction, was very well prepared. This project is now
moving into Delivery.
My thanks to the team for its work and to Jim for his leadership
and inspiration.
Greg
