[N.B. For members of the HR-Payroll team; Discovery teams use the format
below to give brief status reports on a bi-weekly basis. The intent is to
provide a reporting mechanism for projects without a lot of administrative
overhead. These are shared with other Discovery Project Team Leaders.  If

Accomplishments past period:
-  Created draft project charter document
-  Recruited and named team
-  Held first team meeting, 7/22/1999
-  Established rough work structure and activities
- Attended SAP Position Management demo
- Continued team recruitment effort (to replace Implementation Resource
Team representative

Goals for the coming period
- Continue team start up activities
- Begin information gathering, requirements work
- Establish meeting with sponsors
- Begin to schedule demos and site visits

Issues:
- A lot of work in a short amount of time
- Need to insure fit between MIT strategic goals and the work of the team
- Need to insure broad participation and buy-in to the work from the
various customer groups across campus

Key learnings
- Good team, complex topic, there's a lot to learn
- The discussions are rich and critical to moving the work forward.

Team dynamics:
- Very good - solid, focused team, great knowledge base for the work.
