Accomplishments past period
We are tying up loose ends and pulling together our thoughts for a report on
this semester=92s work. Our main accomplishment has been starting to look=
for
faculty participants for fall (and spring.) The project was publicized
through personal contacts on the part of Libraries subject selectors and
through the faculty newsletter, and we=92ve had enthusiastic responses.
Goals for the coming period
Write a draft report
Determine how many classes to experiment with in fall
Continue to look for ways to reduce file size
Issues
We are losing two key team members, Heather Cleary and Bill Comstock. This
is a serious loss for the team (and is most keenly felt by the team leader.)
It concerns me deeply that the performance of this service is so much slower
on public Athena stations than on desktop PCs and Macs. I think we need to
focus some attention on how this performs in the Athena environment.
Key learnings
None right now =96 still regrouping and preparing to move on.
Team dynamics
We have slipped into a dormant state. That=92s about to end. Team, prepare
yourselves to reactivate! We will be welcoming a new member, Oliver Zeff,
who will be replacing Heather as the link to the Libraries=92 reserves=
staff.
