Date: Tue, 20 Apr 1999 13:32:45 -0400 To: magellan@mit.edu, delivery@mit.edu, integration-ptl@mit.edu From: Greg Anderson <ganderso@MIT.EDU> Good afternoon, As follow-up to Bob's call to meeting for Friday, I'd like to add a few words about the first agenda item: > This is a reminder for the project leaders meeting next Friday, April >23, 10:30 - 12:00 in N42-286. This is the agenda so far: > >1) Identifying Initiatives for the FY2000 Budget (about 45 minutes). Greg >Anderson will provide background on budget discussions to date. We do not >have the cushion enjoyed in previous years, so it's important to get all >key initiatives on the table now if they are to be adequately funded. We >will go through all the current projects. Your insight on these and any >other looming work is appreciated. > We've all learned that crystal balls for future IT iniatives are not very clear; however, as noted above, we can get a good handle on key initiatives currently on our table, and this will be our focus. So that we can feed information back into our FY2000 planning, at the end of the meeting I would like to have a sense of each initiative and: Resources needed to complete the work (we can debate what we mean by complete; my view is what is needed to take the project into an operational service for the community - Service and Support). In the resources category, please estimate (three point estimates are fine - high, medium, low): Dollars (equipment, contractors, etc.) People Time We know that some work is further along that other projects, so our information may be inconsistent. That's fine at this juncture. Also include other information you think important and not available through the Project DB. Any new initiatives not yet launched but which you think will be important for IS in the next year. In the interest of time, having information prepared ahead of the meeting is encouraged. Thanks, see you Friday, Greg
