Key areas for Technology Evaluation

Good afternoon,
As I reported at our Team leaders meeting today, Susan and I met
with reps from the Technology Evalutation Center. Although it's unclear if
we might use their services, I did make some rough notes regarding areas of
evaluation in order to gain a more comprehensive picture of an application:
They have identified 6 broad areas with much greater detail in each (I
wasn't able to capture at that level):
1. Product functionality
2. Product technology
3. Product cost
4. Corporate service & support
5. Corporate viability
6. Corporate strategy
As noted at today's meeting by Bill, I think we have good expertise and
experience in 1 & 2, and that we are able to negotiate rather well for 3.
I believe we could do better on the corporate side - 4, 5, 6.
This is beginning to sound like a start for us to form a repository of
information on doing RFP's, etc.
