Project Name: Web Reporting
Project Leader: Jag Patel
Report Date: 3/24/99
Accomplishments past period
- created prototype access counter on serial-mouse to show counter works and
collect sample information
- loaded sample of data from 'beans' prototype into warehouse
- created Brio report combining 'web hits' data with calendar and country
names already in warehouse
- defined in detail the data elements for the next stage of 'web hits' data
- reserved desired c-names for service (counter and hits)
Goals for the coming period
- Process data collected from serial-mouse for warehouse feed
- Design warehouse structures to hold access control information and web
statistics.
- Feed processed data into warehouse
- Move collection and processing onto lava-lamp
- Announce real working prototype
- Get full set of data from Tom Coppeto's beans and load this to warehouse
Issues
- Size can/might matter. A goal for the prototype is to assess the amount
of data being collected and stored, and to scale that with assumptions
around web and reporting growth.
Key learnings
- Proof of concept works. Prototype will allow for another type of marker
to replace 1x1 clear gif method.
Team dynamics
- good
Additional comments
- salemme is on vacation this week
