Doh!
I have Kerberos 5 running happily on 2 FreeBSD 2.1.5 machines and 1 AIX 3.2.5
machine. I attempted installing a third FreeBSD 2.1.5 and ran into a
problem that I can't figure out.
Client applications on this third machine work fine: rsh, su, rlogin, telnet,
etc. all authenticate correctly when contacting any of the other machines
I've set up.
However, server applications are failing, along these lines:
$ rsh freebsd3 ls
Couldn't authenticate to server: Bad sendauth version was sent
rsh: kcmd to host kaneda failed - Bad sendauth version was sent
trying normal rsh (/usr/bin/rsh)
kshd: Authentication failed: Generic unknown RC/IO error
freebsd3.communique.net: Connection refused
I must be missing something basic. Any hints that might help me find the
problem will be greatly appreciated!
