I think you want to get it to initialize the context. 
Unless the tree you tried to compile is much different than the one
I tried, you'll see that problem pop up a number of times.
It shouldn't take much more time than you've already spent to "do it
right." 
I got it to compile once, but gave up when I couldn't get it to
link due to other unrelated problems.
