Sorry.. my first reply got messed up...

There are two macintosh front-ends into kerberos - Authentication Manager
and MacLeland.  I've used MacLeland, and it works very well - and I know the
author provides programming hooks (and examples) for using MacLeland...

As for APOP Services... can't help you there... note: have you thought about
KPOP instead?  (Kerberized POP)
