[7339] in Kerberos

I am running kerberos 5 on a dec alpha and I think that I have it all
configured, however, when I go to run kinit, it type /krb5/bin/kinit adam
and it gives me a message "kinit: Improper format of configuration file
when parsing name adam" What is it talking about and what should I do to
fix it?
