TL Simon,
I must apologize if I was not entirely clear about which
PARTICULAR release of SCO-UNIX the guy should go with
instead of UNIXWARE, which for all intents and purposes
IS dead in the water since the buyout.
SCO is MERGING the strengths of UNIXWARE "a not-particularly-bad
SVR4 UNIX" with the advantages included with the current
5.x release.
In the original letter Gary stated that they were migrating
from HP-UX, he also mentioned the possibility of using
SCO applications (presumably "SCO Xenix-masquerading-as-SVR3")
which prompted my reply/suggestion of going directly to SCO
instead of their "Cousins" at NOVELL..
As far as Thor's comment "A fine idea. Really. I almost never have
any that are better.", if you want a dialogue about advantages
and disadvantages concerning O/S choices for Kerberos try
to keep the sarcasm to a minimum.
