problem with windows telnet client

Greetings,

I'm using the cygnus windows client to connect to v4 on a sparc
i obtain tickets and then attempt to telnet to the host and receive
the following message...
          Assertion Failed!
              Expression failed k!=0, File kstream.c, line 202

Anyone know what's up with this? Some machines work, others give
this message. I can't find any configuration difference. Help!
