initial test compilation caused this version to be released with an
uninitialized variable that could cause the standalone server mode to

I've just released remctl 2.18 with only that bug fix:
Fix uninitialized variable in the remctld standalone server code that
could cause all remote connections to fail and add a more complete
test suite for remote address handling.

Debian packages have been uploaded to Debian unstable.
