installation problems

Hello,
I am trying to install kerberos v4 on a Sun OS v 4.1.3.
I had some trouble with 'make world', but after manually 'making' imake,
and correcting my path statement things seemed ok. the verify command
produced good results.
When I did 'make install', the rsh and rlogin files did not install as
anticipated, and I had to manuall type the install command for each file.
I could not install kshd, klogind, login.krb since I could not find them
anywhere on the system.
Assuming things may work anyway, I attempted kdb_init. (which was in the
/usr/athena/etc directory , not in the /usr/etc directory as mentioned in
the operation notes draft 1/24/89).
The system responded:
Couldn't create database: no such file or directory
Any hints?????
