In the Project Athena Technical Plan section E.2.1, "Kerberos
Authentication and Authorization System," S. P. Miller, B. C. Neuman,
J. I. Schiller and J. H. Saltzer explain that there are three possible
forms in which authorization could be integrated with the Kerberos
authentication model, but that there are reasons to adopt only one of
these and call it the Kerberos authorization model. They further
state that an authorization library package is available for
incorporation into any service that finds the standard model useful.
Is this library package available outside of Project Athena? Has any
service ever found the standard model useful and incorporated it?
