Hello;
Sometimes back, I read a paper that mentions works in progress
about Key Management ASE (IS)/SC27 and ISO/SC21/WG1) and Secure
Excahnge ASE (ISO/SC21/WG6) at ISO. I have a lot of questions about
the need and the philosophy of having such ASEs. The "necessary" Key
Management services are seemed to be included as part of the Directory
Service (X500) services while ACSE is modified so that security
parametres (say for authentication) be negotiated during the
connection establishment. What more services do these two ASE are
supposed to provide or rather what more general services do they
provide to warrant a separate ASE ?
If you have papers related to this points, pointers to such
informations and/or a progress report on the ISO works related to these
so called ASEs, please send me. I need them for my dissertation work on
open system security.
PS: e-mail is more sure as I don't receive some of the news.
Thanks
Ahmed HUSSIEN
