Folks,
Sorry to cast this net a bit broad, but I figure someone on kakapo or
owls is likely to know about this: has anyone heard of five laptops
being given to Random Hall as a "mini cluster"? Our RCC's are hearing
about it through back channels via e-mail from the housemasters and
house manager, asking what OS (Athena, Win Athena, or vanilla XP?) the
students would like installed on these. They are obviously a little
concerned since they are IS&T staff living in the dorm and haven't
heard anything about this from us. If you have any info, please drop me
a note. I've also been traveling a bit these last few weeks so it's
quite possible I missed some e-mail.
Thanks,
Oliver
