Kakapo Meeting notes for 7 July 2004

Attending: Paul, Richard, Oliver, & Jon (me)

We had no agenda items so we talked about various topics.

1. Talked a bit about IE and the "patch"
	- ITAG is tasked with an IE policy (going to discuss today I believe)
	- patch is really just registry changes disabling an ActiveX tool that the
exploit was utilizing
	- the vulnerability exists in all browsers (not just IE), but requires
more user interaction for other browsers

2. Talked about WIN.MIT.EDU lookup tool for CHD
	- Oliver likes it
	- Suggested that it also output the fields stella returns

3. Richard expressed that there is a shortage of cycles for doing
Documentation for WIN.MIT.EDU
	- targeted to both container admins & end users
	- someone needs to identify list of documents before resources can be
requested
	- as part of the documentation work, references to NT 4 migration should
be cleaned up as we are past that point now
	- Richard agreed that between him and Joe, they'd come up with the list of
needed docs

4. Laptop support for WIN.MIT.EDU will hopefully be solidified in what will
be provided by end of July
	- Oliver offered the RCC laptops as an internal test bed

We ended early!

Jon
