Subject: SecureFX 2.2.4 Release Announcement

Good Afternoon,

I am pleased to announce the release of Secure FX 2.2.4. Secure FX 2.2.4 is
the latest version of Van Dyke's secure file transfer program.

Secure FX allows users to securely transfer files to MIT (and other) servers
using the SSH2 protocol. This latest version of Secure FX includes the
ability to authenticate with Kerberos 5 tickets.

New Features and Improvements to Secure FX 2.2.4 include:

-GSSAPI Support / Kerberos 5 Authentication
-Improved Integration with Secure CRT
-Able to securely connect to MIT servers through a NAT box
-Support for SFTP 4
-Multifile Transfers: Support for resuming multiple-file transfers.
Previously, only the active file transfer was completed after the connection
was reestablished. All remaining files in the transfer list are now
completed
-Enhanced File Permission Tools: Ability to change permissions on multiple
files at once has been added

For a complete list of new features, please reference the Secure FX 2.2.4
support site:
http://www.vandyke.com/products/securefx/features_1.html.

Known Issues:
-------------
-Kerberos authentication only works with SFTP

-If the administrator deletes the MSI's for SecureCRT and SecureFX after
installing, regular user accounts will not be able to run the programs.
Instead, an error is given.

Solution:
After downloading SecureCRT and SecureFX, create the directory
C:\Installers, copy the MSI installers SecureCRT and SecureFX to the
directory and install from there. This will allow any user who has an
account on the machine to access the programs.

-Users within the win.mit.edu domain may be unable to launch SecureCRT or
SecureFX. If you encounter an error when attempting to launch either of
these programs, please contact your container administrator. Container
administrators can opt in early to the next win.mit.edu release (4.1) which
addresses this issue.

How to Obtain:
--------------
You can download SecureFX 2.2.4 from the MIT Software Release Page:
http://web.mit.edu/software/win.html.
