Hello Chris,

I recently received your request for consultation regarding the
WIN.MIT.EDU domain. I would be happy to schedule a time to meet with
you to discuss your needs. Before we arrange a meeting, however, I
have a few preliminary questions that I would appreciate you taking
the time to answer (in as much detail as possible) before we get
together. Along with your response to the questions below, please
include some general days/times that are good for you to meet and I
will setup a meeting to discuss this further. If you have any
questions, feel free to contact me directly - Chad Dupuis - ACST
Windows Faculty Liaison - winfl@mit.edu - x3-1783.

What your plans are for the cluster, generally?

What types of machines do you have (as much detail as possible, video
cards, network cards, hard drive size, etc.)?

What other hardware do you have that you are planning on using in the
lab (printers - athena or not, scanners, etc.)?

Who will the users of the machines be (i.e. students, staff, faculty)?

Who will the administrators of the machines be?

Are any of the administrators full-time MIT staff a/or faculty?

Do the administrators have any current knowledge of or direct
experience with using group policy?

What software (with version numbers) do you plan on running with the machines?

How do you plan on installing and maintaining the software on the machines?

Since you mentioned laptops please describe how you plan to use them
- will they all be in a room, loaned out to students and used off
campus as well as on, etc.?

Thank you.
-Chad.
