Container Administrator:
The version of OpenAFS (2003-09-15) we announced on September 19th
will be deployed domain-wide tomorrow evening, Thursday, October 2nd.
For future reference, we will refer to this release as "win.mit.edu
Release 4.0."
There will be no domain-wide reboot of machines for this deployment,
so you must reboot each workstation for it to take the new client.
If any group wishes to opt out of this deployment please send mail to
pismere-ops@mit.edu. Only one container, Machines/citrix-servers,
currently appears on the opt-out list.
Remember that if you have changed the network provider binding order
before taking this version, you should reset it so AFS is the last in
the list.
Also remember to enable (at least to manual startup) the "Network
Connections" service where it may have been disabled.
If you need to check if this version has already been assigned to any
of your machines, you can view the full list of such machines by
typing `blanche openafs-2003-09-15 -recursive` at a command prompt.
If your machines appears on this list, you already have OpenAFS
(2003-09-15) and will not be affected by this domain-wide deployment.
Please write to pismere-ops with any questions. Thank you.
