Dani,
Here's a draft of the first "infosys" communication proposed. It would be released sometime after 9/11, the last spreadsheet update. A second communication would come after the cutover (shortly after 9/19).
Cheers, Bob

Hello,
You will be pleased to know that the Information Systems Strategic Plan is now available on-line in the “About IS” section at http://web.mit.edu/is/org/index.html. This document is the result of a lot of work by many people in IS and among our customers. It should be easy to follow, as it has a very regular structure that lends itself to regular updates and maintenance, which is the responsibility of the ITLT. You will find the Plan organized under four broad Themes. Each Theme is realized by anywhere from 3 to 5 strategies. Each strategy, in turn, is implemented with several specific initiatives. The Themes and Strategies should change very little over time, but the initiatives will see regular updates.
The Initiatives and their two active components, Projects (the work of project teams) and Activities (generally the products of standing team) will be maintained by ITLT members in a new database, which will soon be accessible to all from the same web location as the Strategic Plan. This database will completely replace and extend the current Project Database. By the last week in September, the contents of the old Project Database will be converted the new database and all references in the IS web pages will be redirected accordingly. The new database will also include the entire set of Initiatives developed in the Information Systems Strategic Plan. All of you should see your work in one or more of these Initiatives. Expect further communications toward the end of September when the new database goes on line.
Thanks, JDB
