Hi,
This should do the trick:
1. cd /afs/.<cellname>
2. fs mkmount temp root.afs
3. cd temp
4. ln -sf <long cellname> <short cellname>
5. cd /afs/.<cellname>
6. fs rmm temp
7. vos release root.afs
Note: Must be in rw path to create symbolic link.
