Somehow, our mail system never complained about the chained symbolic
links in the spooler area. Maybe this depends on the fact that all the
mentioned entries, i.e. /usr/spool/mail/nik, /afs/.../spool/mail/nik,
/afs/.../spool/mail/.nik, and /afs/.../spool/mail/.nik/spoolfile are
owned by root.system. It is also important that anyuser has lookup
privilege in all these places. We run AIX 3.1 on all our machines, if
this makes a difference.
