According to the manuals, libafs.a is linked into an Ultrix kernel either by
dkloading a running kernel, or by editing Ultrix source files and using
config, make depend etc. Sadly, the latter implies having Ultrix
source, which we don't.
It's occurred to me that, if I can link libafs.a into a running kernel,
surely I can statically link it in the same way after I've built it
with config. Is the fact that Transarc don't distribute an "skload" to
do so due to a fundamental problem or mere oversight? I find it hard to
believe I'm the first person to think of this, but the more I think
about it, I find it even harder to think of any real problems. Can I
use dkload to do so?
BTW there's quite alot of interest in /usr in AFS; keep the replies coming.
