To all AIX V3 users with AFS.
The loader of AIX 03.01.07.0025 doesn't work with object files in an
AFS. The generated error message is
0706-734 ERROR: Can not attach mapped file xxx.o.
0706-541 ERROR: INSERT: Unable to open for insertion.
File specified is xxx.o
Check path name and permissions.
This error message is also generated if you set your ACL to
"system:anyuser all" . So it's not a problem of incorrect AFS
permissions.
The problem resides not only in /bin/ld but also in /usr/lib/bind.
Installing the old versions (03.01.05.0012) of /bin/ld and /usr/lib/bind
solves the problem.
Hope this helps some people to avoid this problem.
