The Workspace has no special knowledge of /Net. It has to do with
the different way that autonfsmount and afsd(?) deal with stats in
/Net and /afs respectively.
When I do this, I generate no network traffic. Autonfsmount fakes
the stat calls until a dereference occurs.

Change this behavior and you'll get quite a performance increase in
the Workspace when dealing with /afs.

Um, it seems that there's already some special code in place in
Workspace to deal with ``automount'' names (under /Net). Is this a
Workspace hack or what? What attribute is Workspace looking for in
printing ``(automount)'' that it couldn't, or can't, print for names
under /afs?
