Hi all,

I am a new AFS admin running Transarc 3.1 AFS on a Sun4 with SunOS 4.1.1.

We don't have a tape operator here and we run all our UFS dumps
unattended (cron job) to 8mm tape drives.

I would like to setup the AFS tape backups to run unattended as well. The
problem is that butc seems to require user input. I have tried redirecting
the stdin of butc to a file with a bunch of carriage returns in it but
it must flush stdin or something upon starting.

Transarc told me to have the tape operator run the tapes in the morning.
This is not to helpful to me.

Any tips/hints/help on how I can unattended AFS tape backups running
appreciated!!

Lou
