On 24 July, Ed. Zayas announced the availability of an electronic
version of the first AFS-3 interface spec. This is to announce that a
hardcopy version of the entire suite of AFS-3 interface specs will be
available for purchase within the next two months. There will
initially be six specs, including an Overview and descriptions of the
interfaces to the BOS Server, File Server/Cache Manager, Protection
Server, Rx, and Volume Server/VL Server. The interface to the
Authentication Server will be detailed in a later document.
I will send another message during the week of 19 August, providing
more specific information on the contents of the specs, their cost and
so on.
To help me better calculate the number of copies to reproduce, please
reply to mauro@transarc.com if you are in principle interested in
receiving a harcopy of the suite of specs. YOUR REPLY DOES NOT
REPRESENT A COMMITMENT OR ORDER ON YOUR PART, nor do you have to reply
now to order a copy later. The suite is not yet ready to order, but
when it is, you will order it from your AFS Sales Representative,
as you would any AFS documents.
