this is how we run the rt_aos4 clients in the citi.umich.edu cell. i don't see
a dependency on the breed of hardware or unix in what we do. take a look at
/afs/citi.umich.edu/user/template/rt_aos4/afs_client/hd0a/ to see what files we
load into an otherwise empty disk.
