I think I may know why Paul Traina have a difference of opinion as to
the answer for:

The correct answer is "it depends". For most applications (including
James Ault's POP server) it is possible. For other applications (such
as XDM) it is not--additional work is required.
Oh, and in case it isn't obvious, you have to do some configuration
work. You have to create appropriate /etc/krb.conf and
/etc/krb.realms files.
