The Internet maillist convention, which I believe Transarc conforms to is
that you handle all out-of-band communication via:
afs-request@transarc.com
and regular user dialog is maintained here in info-afs.
The problem is a great user community naivete inherent in maillists with a
greater scope of audience, such as AFS users. Another option would be to
have a Newsgroup so you could rely on kill files and other filters without
risk of blowing away email from your boss or loved ones :-).

Could we perhaps consider changing the name of this list to something
less likely to cause confusion. There seems to be a steady stream of
requests for info about AFS coming this way. I for one am already
getting way too much junk e-mail and if a simple name change would
alleviate some of it I would be very happy.
