We had another occurrence of a Risc/6000 (AIX 3.2.4, AFS 3.2a) mysteriously
loosing write permission (group, other) on the /tmp directory. I wonder if
anyone else has seen this?
In this case the symptom was that AFS backup said it that the file
/usr/afs/backup/tapeconfig was missing, when in fact the problem was
that the program could not write in /tmp.
