                      Call For Participation

                       Transarc User Event

                         March 2--4, 1994

Transarc Corporation is pleased to announce the first annual meeting
bringing together  users of it products. The meeting will be held March 2
through March 4, 1994 in Orlando, Florida.

The meeting is designed to assist Transarc customers and third-party
partners as they incorporate Transarc products --- AFS 3, Encina, DCE,
DFS --- into their business plans.

Presentations may include:

          ## Talks ## Technical papers ## Panel discussions

Those submitting technical papers would be expected to provide copies of
slides to accompany the presentation in addition to the paper.

Suggested Topics:

- Site profiles exploring how a Transarc product is deployed within a
  specific production environment.
- Modifying AFS or other third-party products to fit your environment.
- Optimizing and reporting on file system --- AFS or DFS --- performance.
- Management perspectives on planning and implementing a DCE-based
  corporate strategy.
- Building applications that extend the services of the DCE and Encina.
- Migrating mainframe transaction processing activities to an Encina-based
  distributed environment.
- Using Encina in conjunction with relational databases.

Those wishing to participate should provide a title, short abstract
(50--75 words), and suggested length for the proposed presentation,
along with the following information:

- Name, company affiliation, title.
- Postal and e-mail addresses.
- Phone and fax numbers.
- Panel presentations should include a description of the type of
  panelists to be involved. The person submitting the panel topic assumes
  responsibility - as the panel chair - for lining up speakers and
  coordinating presentations.

Relevant dates:

- October 28, 1993: Final date for submissions.
- December 1, 1993: Acceptance notification to submitters.
- January 17, 1994: Completed papers and/or slides due in postscript or
  hard copy format.
