Subject: AFS password initialization
Why don't you create different initial AFS passwords for every user by random
and mail them to the current users? If mail isn't convenient and your current
system is sufficiently trustable, put the preset AFS password into a file
only readable by the current UNIX uid, e.g. in the user's home directory, and
tell people in any convenient way (well before you activate AFS authentication)
where they will find their initial password, how to authenticate for the first
time, and how to change the AFS password. If your random passwords are ugly
enough it is quite sure that your users will change them as soon as possible.
