urgent question: what happens when server goes down?

If I have a process whose binary resides on server A and replicated on server
B, and server A goes down (or network to server A goes down), what happens to
my process? Does the process hang forever until server A comes back? Does
the OS attempt to page from server B instead?

REMEMBER ... THIS IS THE SAME PROCESS RUNNING ALL THIS TIME! IT'S NOT A NEW
PROCESS INVOKED USING THE BINARY ON SERVER B!

Does anyone (especially you folks at Transarc) know this?
