Hi,
Have any one tried running 'fms' on a DAT tape drive before?
I have a DECsystem/3100 running Ultrix 4.1 (w/ the DAT patch)
and AFS 3.1 release. After the first scan, 'fms' reported
wrote block: 79765
Finished data capacity test - rewinding
The first scane finished in a reasonable amount of time.
'fms' is now going through the second scan and it is taking
forever. I stopped it twice thinking that it had died. At the
moment, after running for approximately 18 hours, the second
'fms' scan produced
wrote 6606 blocks, 6606 filemarks
and it is continuing at 2 blocks increment. Can any one explain
why it is taking so long to perform the second scan? At this
rate, 'fms' won't finish until a week from now. Have any one
had experience this on their DAT tape drives? Thank you.
Bobby
