Project Name: HR-Payroll Project
Project Leader: Dan Fitzgerald
Report Date: Aug 5, 2002
URL: http://web.mit.edu/is/delivery/hrpayroll/
Accomplishments in June/July
- ESS transactions for updating telephone directory info was tested and
approved. A reversal of policy change regarding printing home addresses
resulted in a SAP modification and minor ESS changes but enough to warrant
another integration test which is scheduled for Aug 2 - 9. Production
support plans are in place for this new functionality and it combines
resources from I.S., FSS and Human Resources.
- Development of Tuition Assistance benefit plan within SAP is in-progress.
The Children's Scholarship Plan development is to follow.
- Design proposal for HR Letter production presented to business owners.
The proposal included a significant change in number and content of
Letters. Next steps are to have HR Officers reach out to their respective
customers to gather feedback.
- Pension Payroll project restarted after a 2 month delay. The delay was
result of business owners needing to address a couple of important issues
before embarking on this in-depth development work.
- Organization Management team went live with new HR Org structure, job
catalog and assignment of people to Positions. This go-live supports the
Telephone Directory rollout.
- Personnel Administration team have completed their baseline configuration
and have conducted test sessions in order to receive feedback.
- Pilot for New Hires enrolling in Benefits via the Web began in late June.
Goals for Aug
- Finalize ESS testing.
- New version of project web-site published.
Next Community Milestone
- Telephone Directory ESS transactions referenced above, scheduled for August.
Issues
- Determination of Lincoln Lab - campus integration. Impacts scope,
timeline, project structure, HR structure and project resources.
- Pension Payroll and HR go-lives in early 2003 will impact our SAP
environment in terms of pre-production environments, size of SAP instances,
management of support packs, and other areas. Important that we get ahead
of this change.
