Accomplishments this Period:
* four HP4100N printers have been deployed and set up in the various
Facilities locations for PPL output
* PPL print datastreams have been successfully re-configured to use these
network-based printers removing the dependency on serial-line printers
* SSIT has begun the formal de-commissioning sign-off process
for the oldMITSIS (VAX)
Goals for the Coming Period:
* reconfigure PPL email for direct MITnet delivery/posting
* reconfigure PPL's IP address for a W91 location
* SSIT - Client signoff on oldMITSIS de-commissioning
* SSIT - complete shutdown of old MITSIS and DEVSIS (carry-over)
* de-commission any SecureLAN equipment still in E19-630
(CPTs, CUG links to 5ESS, bridges, fiber links, etc.) (May 2002)
Issues:
- none
I expect that by the end of June, 2002, the last technical work will be
complete for the phase-out of the SecureLAN.
